Product Testing & Standards

At Sooner State Wellness, we hold ourselves to high standards for our cannabis and cannabis products. We use USDA Certified Organic standard operating procedures as guidelines for our in-house procedures. Our partner farmers and processors adhere to all these standards as well. We implement practices that guarantee clean, pharmaceutical-grade cannabis.

Sooner State Wellness products are often tested at least three times before they every make it into the hands of patients. We only work with accredited laboratories with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority. We go beyond Oklahoma state standards and test our product at every step of the chain.

Our Standards & Procedures

After harvesting, the flower is dried, cured, and laid into ten pound batches. Flower that meets state requirements is separated from trim and sugar leaf and sold. Trim and sugar leaf are either sold as tested trim and sugar leaf or sent to processor to be made into a value-added products such as distillates or pre-rolls. Products receive full-panel tests once it is returned to Sooner State Wellness. If products undergo another round of processing for vaporizer cartridges and edibles, we package them in accordance with Oklahoma state standards and send final product to be sold by retail customer to the laboratories for a full panel test on final product. The same product goes through three rounds of testing. Every time a product leaves Sooner State Wellness custody, we test it to make sure it meets product standards and quality for patients in our communities. We stand by products sold past, present, or future.

The panels we run include the full cannabinoid profile, the terpine profile, and contaminant profiles. The contaminant profiles search for herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, heavy metals, and harmful micro-organisms.

In our aquaponic growing facility, we test the water daily for ammonia levels, nitrites, nitrates, water temperature, pH levels, and dissolved oxygen levels. We send both source water and system water quality profiles for testing to ensure there are no contaminants in either. We test the tissue of the plants at every stage of growth. The grow beds sit in an atmospherically-controlled environment that completely exchanges air every couple of minutes. Employees wear personal protective equipment to make certain that no contaminants enter the system.

In our soil-based grows, our partner farmers follow our USDA Certified Organic growing techniques and standard operating procedures to create custom growing programs. All partner farms are provided with nutrients and feeding cycles approved by the Organic Materials Review Institute as well as natural, OMRI-approved pesticides, fungicides, and insecticides.
